Oxford Pharmacy Store (OPS) is now a distribution provider for B. Braun’s Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Therapy (OPAT) products in the UK, increasing access to these products and the service for UK healthcare providers.

The OPAT service supports UK clinicians in delivering intravenous antimicrobial treatment outside of a hospital setting, closer to home, reducing cost and resource pressures, whilst aiming to improve patient access and experience during treatment.

The collaboration between B. Braun, a global leader in infusion therapy and medical devices and OPS, an NHS organisation and one of the UK’s leading providers of specialist medicines distribution services, aims to enhance a commitment to supporting healthcare providers in delivering well tolerated, efficient, and patient-focused products and services.

“We are pleased to be working with B. Braun, supporting uptake and adoption of these products and the OPAT service across the NHS” said Mark Byrne, OPS General Manager. “We are supportive of OPAT services that aim to reduce costs, free up hospital beds and nursing time and improve the patient experience, which aligns with the NHS 10-year plan and switch from hospital to community treatment.

“At B. Braun, we are committed to working collaboratively with NHS organisations to support the delivery of Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Therapy services. Partnering with Oxford Pharmacy Store enables us to enhance access for healthcare providers, supporting NHS priorities for efficiency and quality of care.” Jordi Walker, B. Braun Market Development Manager
